Hospital Waste Services Technician

We are seeking a Hospital Waste Services Technician to join our team! You will collect medical, pharmaceutical, and hazardous waste throughout the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center and three other offsite locations and haul it weekly to our Niles Michigan Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility for final disposal.

Responsibilities:

• Remove and replace sharps containers from patient care and exam rooms (approximately 1100 containers) two days each week.
• Remove pharmaceutical waste from containers (approximately 56 locations)
• Collect laboratory waste (organic solvents and nonhazardous liquids) from labs and pour off into drums on site.
• Transport medical and pharmaceutical waste to Niles, MI weekly
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures

​Qualifications:

• Background in waste management
• Strong customer service skills
• Familiarity with EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations
• Commercial Driver's License preferable
