Job Description
Position Summary: Performs repetitive work station assembly operations. Assembles fabricated and/or purchased parts to relatively small or light sub-assemblies and complete units. Uses hand tools and small power tools to assemble units.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assembles, installs wiring and small components, and adjusts fabricated parts at floor stations
- Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications
- Uses hand tools and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications
- Identifies and repairs units that fail tests and/or tolerance levels and notifies Assembly Supervisor of these issues
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
- Helps to eliminate waste in production
- Other duties as assigned
Competencies:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to pay close attention to detail
- Must be able to interpret or following drawings
- Knowledge of pneumatic and hand tools for assembly
- Knowledge of pallet jack operation
- Must maintain a labor efficiency of at least 90% or higher at all times
- Must take written math test
- Must take and pass forklift certification
- Ability to lift approximately 75 lbs.
Required education and experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
