Certified Medication Aide

The Certified Medication Aide plays a critical role in ensuring safe and effective medication administration to patients while supporting nursing staff and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic healthcare environment. Familiarity with electronic medical administration record systems (eMAR) and occasional weekend or holiday shifts are part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications accurately according to prescriptions and protocols
• Monitor patients for medication effectiveness and adverse reactions
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records using eMAR systems
• Manage medication inventory to ensure availability and proper storage
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and healthcare regulations
• Report any adverse medication reactions or incidents promptly
• Assist nursing staff with patient care activities as needed
• Educate patients on medication usage and safety
• Perform sterilization of equipment to maintain hygiene standards

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in medication administration
• High School Diploma or equivalent
