Job Description
Shop Mechanic with Electrical knowledge
- Diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel engines used in dredges
- Troubleshoot and service hydraulic systems (pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and lines)
- Maintain and repair work boats and support vessels
- Service and rebuild outboard boat motors
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems including wiring, batteries, starters, alternators, gauges, and control panels
- Read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical schematics
- Perform preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime
- Operate diagnostic tools, multimeters, and hydraulic testing equipment
- Fabricate or modify components as needed for repairs
- Knoweldge about direct and indirect injection diesel engines required
