Medical Assistant - New Bedford

Location: New Bedford, MA 02740
Pay Rate: $22-$24 per hour (Pay is dependent on experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday

• Monday & Tuesday: 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Wednesday & Thursday: 9:00 AM-7:00 PM
• Friday: 9:00 AM-2:00 PM

We are seeking a professional, compassionate, and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The Medical Assistant will provide hands-on clinical support, assist with patient outreach and follow-up, maintain accurate EMR documentation, and help ensure efficient daily clinic operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience with phlebotomy and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Candidates who are not already proficient with injections must be willing to receive training.

• Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining medical histories and recording vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy, urine drug screenings (UDS), and CLIA-waived diagnostic testing.
• Administer injections according to provider direction, established protocols, and training.
• Assist with prescription management and medication counts.
• Conduct patient outreach, including appointment reminders, patient re-engagement, and follow-up calls.
• Manage and maintain adequate laboratory and PPE supplies.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in the EMR.
• Collaborate with front desk and laboratory teams to support efficient daily clinic workflow.
• Provide professional, compassionate, and patient-focused support throughout the patient experience.
• Follow all applicable safety standards, patient confidentiality requirements, and infection control protocols.
• Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EMT, or LPN program preferred.
• Minimum of 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant and in phlebotomy.
• Willingness to train on injections if not already proficient.
• Strong clinical and phlebotomy skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
• Commitment to patient confidentiality, safety, and infection control standards.
