Home Health Aide - Shelbyville, Indiana

Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / PRN

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and professional Home Health Aide (HHA) or CNA to provide quality in-home care to clients. The Home Health Aide/CNA will assist clients with daily living activities while promoting independence, dignity, and comfort in a safe home environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide mobility assistance, transfers, and ambulation support.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding when necessary.
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and maintain a clean living environment.
• Remind clients to take medications as directed (non-medication administration).
• Monitor and report changes in the client's physical or mental condition.
• Accompany clients to appointments and errands as needed.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services provided.
• Follow the client's individualized care plan and agency policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Current Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance (if transporting clients).
• Ability to pass a criminal background check 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with transfers.
• Previous caregiving or home health experience preferred but not required.

Requirements

• CPR/First Aid certification (less than 2 years old)  
• Negative TB Test (less than 2 years old)  
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
