AP/Payroll Accountant

Cleveland Construction is seeking an entry level AP/Payroll Accountant with Construction experience to join our team.  This position will be responsible for a wide range of accounting efforts in a multifaceted group of companies.  This position will have a wide range of responsibilities impacting the financial statement and control environments for a group of operational, development, and construction entities.   

Accounts Payable:

• Process and manage subcontractor draws to ensure timely and accurate payments.
• Manage lien and sworn statements waivers
• Request W-9 forms from vendors. 
• Collect banking information from vendors for electronic payments. 
• Research past-due invoices and resolve discrepancies with vendors. 
• Collaborate with operations for invoice approvals. 

Payroll:

• Validate hours, deductions, and process payroll accurately. 
• Review new hire packets for completeness and accuracy. 
• Coordinate with operations to meet payroll deadlines. 
• Complete I-9 forms and E-Verify processes.

Qualifications:

• Experience in the construction industry is strongly preferred

• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Experience in development, construction, hospitality, restaurants a plus
• Proficient with Microsoft software products
• Ability to learn new software
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
