Job Description

First Step Staffing is hiring a Food Production Lead for a high-volume food processing and manufacturing facility. This is a working lead position for an experienced production professional who can lead a team while actively working alongside associates on the production floor.

Schedule & Pay

• 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 4:45 PM–4:00 AM
• $18–$21/hour, depending on experience
• Overtime available
• Weekly pay
• Transportation provided
• Sign-on bonus

Job Duties

• Lead and work alongside production associates to meet daily production, quality, safety, and attendance goals.
• Help coordinate daily assignments and ensure employees are positioned appropriately throughout the production operation.
• Perform hands-on packing, packaging, quality inspection, case packing, palletizing, and general production duties.
• Inspect and sort apples on the production line, removing bruised or damaged product.
• Monitor finished products for proper counts, packaging, seals, labeling, and overall quality.
• Train and coach employees on proper production procedures, safety practices, quality standards, and workplace expectations.
• Monitor employee attendance, productivity, performance, and adherence to company policies.
• Communicate production issues, staffing concerns, and other operational needs to management.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
• Assist with moving and stacking containers weighing approximately 20–25 pounds.
• Rotate between production, packing, inspection, and material-handling duties as needed.

Requirements

• Previous food production, manufacturing, warehouse, or production leadership experience preferred.
• Previous experience as a Lead, Team Lead, Production Lead, Supervisor, or similar role preferred.
• Must be able to work 4:45 PM–4:00 AM, Monday–Friday.
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
• Able to stand and perform repetitive production work throughout the shift.
• Able to repeatedly lift up to 25 pounds.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced food production/manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to hold team members accountable while maintaining a positive work environment.
• Must be willing to work alongside the team and perform production duties rather than serving solely in an administrative supervisory capacity.
