Position Summary

Mobile Staff Solutions is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist for an established industrial equipment repair and service company in Tampa, FL. This position is responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, replacement parts, equipment, and services needed to support repair operations and customer projects. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably within an industrial, mechanical, manufacturing, or equipment-repair environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and purchase industrial parts, materials, equipment, tools, and outside services.
• Request and compare vendor quotes based on price, quality, availability, and delivery time.
• Create, process, and track purchase orders from placement through delivery.
• Locate replacement parts using equipment specifications, manuals, part numbers, drawings, and vendor resources.
• Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, lead times, availability, order status, and delivery schedules.
• Expedite urgent or critical materials to prevent repair and production delays.
• Coordinate purchasing priorities with repair technicians, operations, project managers, and warehouse personnel.
• Verify purchase order information, quantities, pricing, and delivery documentation.
• Resolve incorrect shipments, damaged materials, pricing discrepancies, and backorders.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor information, and order documentation.
• Assist with inventory control, stock-level monitoring, and material planning.
• Identify alternative suppliers and cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing quality or delivery requirements.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with new and existing vendors.
• Support invoice reconciliation by resolving discrepancies between purchase orders, receiving records, and vendor invoices.
• Follow company purchasing procedures and approval requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of three to five years of purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or materials-management experience.
• Experience sourcing parts, materials, or equipment in an industrial, mechanical, manufacturing, or repair environment.
• Strong vendor communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to read and interpret part numbers, specifications, equipment manuals, and purchasing documents.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Experience using purchasing, inventory, ERP, or accounting software.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and urgent requests.
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with multiple departments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience purchasing parts for pumps, motors, rotating equipment, machinery, or other industrial systems.
• Knowledge of industrial maintenance and repair terminology.
• Experience with purchase-order processing, inventory management, and vendor-performance tracking.
• Familiarity with freight coordination, shipping documentation, and delivery scheduling.
• Experience locating discontinued, specialty, or hard-to-find components.

Work Environment

This position works closely with office, warehouse, and repair-shop personnel. The employee may occasionally enter active industrial work areas and must follow all required safety procedures.
