Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification in Texas
• Previous experience working with elementary students in life skills or related special education settings
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Ability to foster a positive, respectful classroom culture
• Excellent communication skills for working with families, colleagues, and support personnel
• Adaptability and creative problem-solving skills
• Commitment to evidence-based instructional strategies for diverse learners

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with varied disabilities
• Differentiate instruction to address the unique academic, behavioral, and emotional needs of each student
• Encourage student independence and foster development of daily living and social skills
• Work collaboratively with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and classroom teachers
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of student progress and IEP compliance
• Communicate regularly with families, sharing student growth and strategies for continued success
• Contribute to a positive school environment by participating in team meetings, IEPs, and staff development
