Special Education Teacher in Burgaw, NC

This contract position is designed for a dedicated Special Education Teacher ready to provide personalized instruction and case management for students in grades 6–8. With a manageable caseload of 7 students and in-classroom Instructional Assistant (IA) support, you’ll have the resources and time needed to create impactful learning experiences.

Qualifications:

• Valid state licensure/certification in Special Education (or ability to obtain)
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in middle school settings
• Comprehensive understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
• Strong skills in differentiation and classroom management
• Excellent collaboration abilities and communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction that meets diverse learning needs
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom culture
• Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with families and colleagues
