CNC Operator

Pay: $25-30 DOE

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

To efficiently use CNC machines to produce parts to print.

Able to setup, load parts in the machine, cycle machine and detect any problems CNC machining equipment to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations to meet close

 

1. Active involvement in promoting and maintaining a safe work environment, to include keeping the work are clean and free of hazards.

2. Mount, align and secure holding fixtures and check to establish reference points.

3. Work from instructions to program operation specifications.

4. Set stops and machine travel.

5. Operations to include boring, milling, recessing, occasional profiling or contouring.

6. Manually cycle machine through operation sequence to check fixture and work positions, tooling, clearances, speeds, etc.

7. Notify supervisor (or lead person) immediately of problems, concerns or questions you may have.

8. Work from part drawings, job card and specifications. Follow special instructions as communicated by supervisor or lead person.

9. Use a variety of precision measuring instruments.

10. Record all necessary job information on appropriate documents and forms.

11. Comply with all Company policies and safety rules.

12. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor or lead person.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Fast paced environment in a Job Shop and Metal Fabrication.

2. Work environment: Cement flooring, seasonal temperatures, background noise of machining, steel presses, shearing machine, hammering noises, power tool operation.

3. Safety PPE required: Steel toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection. Other PPE required per the specification of the job performed.

4. Possible overtime but not guaranteed.

5. Hazardous machinery and equipment.

6. Sitting/Standing: Sit on rare basis (breaks or operating some machines). Standing is on a frequent basis to perform job tasks.

7. Walking: occasional to retrieve/deliver materials for performing a job task or to take part to quality inspection site.

8. Squatting/Crouching: occasional basis to retrieve materials/supplies needed.

9. Kneeling: not required.

10. Lift: frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.

11. Stair Climbing: 20 stairs to break room.
