Job Description

The Concrete Laborer supports daily production operations by preparing and cleaning concrete forms and steel molds, performing basic carpentry tasks, and maintaining a safe and orderly facility. This role involves working with precast concrete products in both indoor and outdoor environments and contributing to the overall efficiency and quality of construction and manufacturing activities.

Responsibilities

• Strip and clean concrete forms and concrete products to ensure they are ready for reuse and meet quality standards.
• Prepare steel molds for filling with concrete, including cleaning, assembling, and ensuring proper alignment and readiness for pouring.
• Perform basic carpentry tasks related to concrete formwork and mold preparation, using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Assist with concrete finishing activities as needed, supporting the production of smooth, accurate, and high-quality precast products.
• Carry out facility maintenance and housekeeping duties to keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
• Follow written and verbal instructions accurately to complete daily tasks and production requirements.
• Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate work, report issues, and support a smooth workflow.
• Handle physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and positioning materials and equipment, including lifting up to 40 lbs periodically throughout the day.
• Work Monday through Friday, typically between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00–5:00 p.m., and occasionally on Saturdays when requested in advance.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures while working with precast concrete molds and related equipment in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Essential Skills

• Experience in manufacturing or construction environments is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic math and measurements to accurately follow production specifications.
• Ability to read and write simple instructions and understand basic documentation related to daily tasks.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members to support coordinated and efficient work.
• Capability to lift up to 40 lbs periodically throughout the workday.
• Concrete handling and construction skills, including familiarity with concrete forms and precast molds.
• Basic carpentry skills applicable to formwork and mold preparation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in concrete work, concrete finishing, or as a concrete finisher is an advantage.
• Experience working with concrete forms and precast concrete molds is beneficial.
• Comfort working in environments with heavier physical demands and hands-on labor.
• Ability to adapt to varying daily workloads and schedules based on production needs.

Work Environment

The role is based in a production setting that includes both indoor and outdoor work areas focused on precast concrete molds. The work involves heavier, physically demanding tasks, including regular lifting and movement of materials. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00 a.m. and ending between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m., depending on when the work is completed, with occasional Saturday shifts communicated in advance. Employees work around concrete, construction tools, and related equipment in a hands-on, industrial environment where safety, cleanliness, and proper housekeeping are emphasized.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mankato, MN.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Mankato,MN.
