Job Description
Take on a meaningful role supporting students as a contract paraprofessional, working directly with children who have social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Based onsite near West Hartford, CT, this assignment spans from October 1 through November 30, with the potential for extension.
You’ll be engaged with a unique caseload, offering 1:1 support to help foster student success and well-being in the school environment. The schedule includes Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, with a shorter day on Wednesdays from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM—perfect for those seeking a consistent weekday routine.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting.
- Background supporting students with social-emotional and behavioral needs, ideally in 1:1 situations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with educational teams and follow direction from lead teachers and specialists.
- Reliable, compassionate, and committed to making a positive impact.
- Comfortable with onsite work and engaging directly with students throughout the school day.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to assigned student(s), ensuring a safe and encouraging learning environment.
- Assist with classroom management, daily routines, and activities tailored to individual needs.
- Implement behavior management strategies as directed by the instructional team.
- Support the student’s participation in learning activities and social interactions.
- Maintain clear communication with teachers and staff regarding student progress and needs.
