Special Education Teacher - Tinley Park, Illinois

Step into a dynamic role supporting middle school students as a Resource Special Education Teacher for grades 6–8. This full-time contract position runs from late September 2026 to early June 2027, offering you an opportunity to make a meaningful impact throughout the academic year. Working primarily with students in a resource classroom setting, you’ll help foster growth and success at a pivotal stage in their educational journey.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement
• Experience teaching or supporting students in special education, preferably with middle school grades
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work closely with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• A compassionate, adaptable teaching style emphasizing individualized instruction and behavior management

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to 6th-8th grade learners in a resource environment
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to address students’ unique learning needs
• Track students’ academic and social-emotional progress, making data-driven adjustments when needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
