ERP Implementation Project Lead

Remote Contract / Project-Based Position

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced finance executive to lead a company-wide ERP implementation involving either NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics. This fully remote, project-based role is ideal for a former Controller, Vice President of Finance, or CFO who has successfully led multiple ERP implementations from planning and system design through data migration, testing, go-live, and post-implementation stabilization. Prior transactional/functional accounting experience is required, it is not a straight technical/systems role, there will be a need for this person to assist with accounting work at times. This will be a full-time consulting position offering an hourly W2 pay rate in the range of $100-120/hour.

Key Responsibilities

· Serve as the finance lead and subject-matter expert for the implementation of NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics.

· Partner with executive leadership, accounting, finance, operations, IT, and external implementation consultants to define project requirements, priorities, and success measures.

· Evaluate current-state processes and design scalable future-state workflows for the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, cash management, budgeting, reporting, and financial close.

· Develop and manage the project plan, milestones, risks, dependencies, resources, and stakeholder communications.

· Lead chart-of-accounts design, entity and department structures, approval workflows, financial controls, and management-reporting requirements.

· Oversee data cleansing, mapping, migration, reconciliation, and validation to ensure financial information is complete and accurate.

· Coordinate system configuration, integrations, user acceptance testing, issue resolution, cutover planning, and go-live readiness.

· Ensure the new ERP supports strong internal controls, audit requirements, accounting policies, and timely financial reporting.

· Develop documentation, training materials, and operating procedures; support user adoption across finance and related business functions.

· Provide hands-on leadership during post-go-live stabilization and recommend opportunities for continued process improvement and automation.

Required Qualifications

· Prior experience as a Controller, Corporate Controller, Vice President of Finance, CFO, or comparable senior finance leader.

· Multiple successful end-to-end ERP implementations, including at least one implementation of NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics.

· Strong command of accounting operations, financial reporting, close processes, consolidations, budgeting, internal controls, and audit requirements.

· Demonstrated experience translating finance and operational needs into ERP requirements, workflows, and reporting solutions.

· Experience managing implementation partners, consultants, cross-functional teams, project timelines, and executive stakeholders.

· Hands-on knowledge of data migration, system testing, reconciliations, cutover planning, and post-go-live support.

· Excellent project leadership, communication, documentation, problem-solving, and change-management skills.

· Ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote environment.

Pay Details: $100.00 to $120.00 per hour
