Special Education Teacher | Norwalk, Connecticut

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting students with diverse needs within a collaborative school setting just outside the Bridgeport area. In this role, you'll work 32.5 hours per week, providing direct instructional support to K-12 students. You'll collaborate closely with school staff to develop and deliver tailored educational plans for students in self-contained Autism classrooms, resource classrooms, and as a reading specialist in both elementary and special education settings. Your expertise and compassion will be key in creating an inclusive, nurturing atmosphere where every child can thrive.

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification.
• Experience working in self-contained Autism and resource classrooms.
• Proficiency in adapting and designing instructional materials for individuals and small groups.
• Knowledge of curriculum development, IEP creation, and data-driven instructional strategies.
• Strong communication abilities for collaborating with parents, teachers, and support staff.
• Commitment to fostering a positive, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized instruction for K-12 students with various abilities and learning styles.
• Serve as a resource and reading specialist for elementary (K-8) and special education settings.
