This full-time contract opportunity focuses on guiding 7th and 8th graders with varying levels of need, offering a chance to work alongside experienced colleagues and make an impact across several classrooms.

You’ll start on September 17, 2026, and continue through June 11, 2027, working 32.5 hours each week over five days. Caseloads range from 8 to 20 students. With roles available across K–12 and a supportive team, you’ll find chances to further develop your skills as a Special Education Teacher and collaborate meaningfully to shape positive student outcomes.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and implement IEPs according to students’ individual needs.
• Provide differentiated instruction that supports academic, behavioral, and emotional growth.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and communicate regularly with families and support staff.
• Document and monitor student progress.
• Contribute to a collaborative environment across various programs and grade levels.

What’s required:

• Active Connecticut teaching certificate with Comprehensive Special Education endorsement (#165).
• Bachelor’s degree and completion of an approved Special Education preparation program.
• Fulfillment of all Connecticut testing and eligibility requirements.
• Passion for working with middle school students in a dynamic setting.
