Location: Chicago, IL or Lincolnshire, IL
Schedule: Hybrid | 3 Days In-Office per Week
Compensation: $35-$40/hour (depending on experience)
Duration: Contract assignment anticipated through the end of 2026, with potential for extension based on business needs.

About the Opportunity

LHH is working with a client, a large multi-location organization, is seeking a Licensing Administrator to support a critical licensing transition project while maintaining ongoing licensing compliance across multiple jurisdictions. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensing professional to work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams while gaining exposure to state, federal, county, city, and municipal licensing requirements.

This role will play an integral part in transferring and managing business licenses, supporting acquisitions and new locations, tracking compliance requirements, and ensuring licenses remain current across multiple states.
Key Responsibilities

• Manage and track licensing requirements across multiple states and jurisdictions.
• Coordinate with state, federal, county, city, and municipal agencies regarding licensing matters.
• Research licensing requirements and regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
• Process and manage license renewals and new license applications.
• Support acquisitions, relocations, and new location openings from a licensing perspective.
• Track renewal deadlines and maintain licensing calendars and records.
• Coordinate bonds, certificates of insurance, and supporting documentation.
• Work closely with operations, legal, risk management, construction, and leadership teams.
• Assist with zoning, occupancy, signage, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Investigate and resolve licensing issues, violations, and compliance concerns.
• Prepare reports, documentation, and status updates for leadership.
• Maintain organized records and licensing documentation.

Qualifications
Required:

• 2+ years of licensing experience within a multi-location organization.
• Experience managing licenses across multiple states and jurisdictions.
• DMV or dealership licensing experience.
• Experience handling both license renewals and new license applications.
• Strong research, organization, communication, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to work onsite three days per week in either Chicago or Lincolnshire.

Preferred:

• Experience with business, sales/use tax, repair, HVAC, electrical, gas, water, or similar licensing.
• Experience supporting acquisitions, mergers, or new location openings.
• Knowledge of county, city, and municipal licensing requirements.
• Experience within retail, dealership, real estate, manufacturing, HVAC, or other multi-location organizations.
• Experience coordinating bonds, certificates of insurance, zoning, signage, and occupancy requirements.
• Bachelor's degree or strong administrative background.
