Make a positive impact each day by supporting students with social-emotional and behavioral needs in a highly rewarding contract position. This onsite opportunity spans from October 1st to November 30th—with the chance it may be extended—offering consistent weekday hours at a respected educational clinic near Farmington, CT.

As a paraprofessional in this role, you’ll provide dedicated, one-on-one care, fostering growth and academic engagement in a safe, nurturing environment. You’ll be a valued member of a collaborative campus, helping guide students through meaningful progress and daily learning.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Prior experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar support role within a school setting
  • Strong understanding of social-emotional and behavioral needs in children
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport easily and exercise patience and empathy
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
  • Adaptable and solution-oriented, with a positive attitude towards teamwork
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow school guidelines and protocols

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct 1:1 support to students with social-emotional and behavioral challenges
  • Collaborate with special education teams to implement behavior plans and instructional strategies
  • Support the student’s daily routines and foster appropriate classroom behavior
  • Assist with academic and social activities under teacher direction
  • Document observations and contribute to team meetings as needed
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment at all times

This assignment fits candidates seeking consistency—hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
