Meat Department Associate | Piggly Wiggly
The Role: Quality Cuts & Local Service
As a Meat Department Associate, you are a key player in maintaining the quality and freshness of our store's most popular cuts. We are looking for a professional, punctual, and service-oriented individual to support our butchers and management team. Whether you are assisting a customer with a custom order or ensuring our displays are perfectly stocked, your work ensures our community gets the very best for their dinner table.
As a Meat Department Associate, you are a key player in maintaining the quality and freshness of our store's most popular cuts. We are looking for a professional, punctual, and service-oriented individual to support our butchers and management team. Whether you are assisting a customer with a custom order or ensuring our displays are perfectly stocked, your work ensures our community gets the very best for their dinner table.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory & Logistics: Unload fresh, cured, and boxed meats from delivery trucks using hand trucks.
- Quality Control: Maintain peak freshness by examining and rotating stock in storage to avoid aging.
- Merchandising: Keep refrigerated and frozen meat cases fully stocked and visually appealing for our guests.
- Guest Interaction: Greet every customer with a smile, take custom meat orders, and provide helpful, professional service.
- Sanitation & Safety: Use high-pressure hoses and brooms to keep grinders, containers, and storage rooms spotless and safe.
- Technical Precision: Safely operate specialized equipment, including meat slicers, heated wrapping stations, and cutlery.
What We're Looking For:
- Professionalism: A courteous, punctual teammate who conducts themselves in a business-like manner and follows their schedule reliably.
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and transport heavy meat products via hand truck.
- Technical Skill: Experience-or a strong aptitude for-handling potentially hazardous kitchen and butchery equipment with delicacy and care.
- Team Player: A "can-do" attitude and a willingness to assist management and fellow associates to keep the store environment clean and safe.
