Line Cook

Position: Line Cook / Grill Cook
Department: Restaurant Operations
Reports To: General Manager / Shift Manager

Job Summary

The Line Cook / Grill Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality food while following Taco Palenque recipes, food safety standards, and operational procedures. This position works in a fast-paced restaurant environment and requires teamwork, organization, and a strong sense of urgency.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to Taco Palenque recipes and standards.
• Operate the grill, fryer, stove, and other kitchen equipment safely.
• Prepare meats, tacos, plates, and other menu items accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain proper food temperatures, portions, and presentation.
• Keep the grill, line, prep areas, equipment, and workstations clean and organized.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures.
• Restock ingredients and supplies throughout the shift.
• Follow FIFO procedures and proper food storage practices.
• Communicate with team members to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.
• Assist with opening, closing, and cleaning duties as assigned.
• Follow all Taco Palenque policies and procedures.
• Perform additional restaurant duties as needed.

Qualifications

Previous restaurant, kitchen, grill, or line cook experience is preferred but not required. Candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, stand for extended periods, work around hot cooking equipment, and lift restaurant supplies as needed. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Schedule: Must have flexible availability, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
