About the Role:
Home Safe Transportation LLC is looking for a compassionate and reliable NEMT (Non-Emergency Medical Transportation) Driver to join our growing team in Rochester, NY. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives by helping them safely reach their medical appointments and essential destinations. Responsibilities:
- Safely transport passengers to and from medical appointments, dialysis centers, therapy sessions, and other healthcare facilities
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including those using wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility aids
- Operate wheelchair-accessible vehicles (WAV) and ensure proper securement of wheelchairs and mobility devices
- Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, and passenger documentation
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers, passengers, and healthcare facility staff
- Follow all traffic laws, HIPAA guidelines, and company safety protocols
Requirements:
- Valid New York State driver's license with a clean driving record
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience transporting elderly, disabled, or medically fragile passengers preferred
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Strong punctuality, reliability, and time management skills
- Compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor with vulnerable populations
- Physical ability to assist passengers and handle mobility equipment
