Research Associate

Job Description:

Insight Global is seeking a Research Associate I for a leading molecular diagnostics organization. This individual will support assay development and bioinformatics initiatives by performing hands-on molecular biology experiments, generating high-quality data, and assisting with assay optimization efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong PCR/qPCR experience, be comfortable analyzing experimental data, and enjoy working within a collaborative scientific environment. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative molecular diagnostic technologies and AI/ML-assisted assay development programs while gaining exposure to both laboratory research and bioinformatics-driven projects.

Must-Haves:

• BS/BA in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or related Life Science
• Hands-on PCR and qPCR experience
• Molecular biology laboratory experience
• Nucleic acid extraction experience
• Experimental troubleshooting skills
• Data analysis and interpretation experience
• Statistical analysis using JMP or similar software
• Strong documentation and organizational skills
• Experience collaborating within scientific teams

Plusses:

• ddPCR experience
• Molecular diagnostics experience
• Laboratory automation/liquid handling systems
• High-throughput screening experience
• Python, R, JMP, or bioinformatics exposure
• Oligonucleotide design experience
• Regulated laboratory environment experience (GLP/GMP/CLIA)

Day-to-Day:

• Perform molecular biology and assay development experiments
• Execute PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR, and nucleic acid workflows
• Prepare reagents, controls, standards, and biological samples
• Support high-throughput screening and automation platforms
• Collect, organize, and document experimental data
• Analyze results and assist with dataset preparation
• Troubleshoot assays and laboratory equipment
• Maintain lab inventory and support daily operations
• Collaborate with Assay Development and Bioinformatics teams
• Follow SOPs, safety standards, and quality procedures
