Medical Assistant - Orange, CA

Position Overview

The Medical Assistant (MA) provides both clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers, acting as a crucial link between front-office operations and back-office patient care. This opportunity is primarily based in Orange, CA, with scheduled rotation to a secondary office in Newport Beach, CA.

Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

• Escort patients from the waiting area to exam rooms promptly and professionally.

• Obtain and accurately record vital signs, including height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature.

• Interview patients to document comprehensive medical histories and current chief complaints.

Administrative Duties

• Manage appointment schedules and coordinate provider calendars.

• Update Electronic Health Records (EHR) with high attention to detail and accuracy.

• Handle incoming calls, relay messages to providers, and communicate test results or care instructions to patients as directed.

Required Qualifications

• Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting (Open to motivated new graduate MAs looking to build clinical experience).

• High degree of compassion, professionalism, and punctuality.

• Reliability to split work locations between the main hub in Orange and the Newport Beach office every other week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and half-day Thursday when scheduled for Newport Beach).

• Professional dress code compliance (Scrubs).

Preferred Qualifications

• Multiple years of hands-on Medical Assistant experience.

• Hands-on experience using Athena EMR.

• Prior specialty background in Nephrology (Kidney care).

• Bilingual capabilities.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Includes a 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM lunch break)
