Location: 6815 Guion Road, Indianapolis, IN 46268
Contract: 12 months, with possible extension
Pay: $24/hour on W2
Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Interview: 1st round virtual, 2nd round onsite

Job Summary

The Material Handler will be responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, picking, packing, shipping, and delivering materials. You will also maintain inventory records and make sure materials are handled safely and correctly.

Main Responsibilities

• Receive incoming materials and check them against purchase orders and shipping documents.
• Inspect materials for damage or discrepancies.
• Store materials in the correct location and temperature.
• Pick, pack, and prepare materials for shipment.
• Deliver materials to manufacturing and other departments.
• Maintain accurate inventory records in the computer/ERP system.
• Perform daily inventory checks and cycle counts.
• Prepare shipping and receiving paperwork.
• Schedule and track shipments with carriers such as FedEx and UPS.
• Use computers and inventory/material tracking software.
• Operate hand trucks and pallet movers.
• Keep the warehouse and distribution areas clean and organized.
• Work with departments such as Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Production, and Customer Service.
• Follow company safety rules, cGMP, ISO, and shipping procedures.
• Work overtime when required during busy periods or inventory activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of shipping/receiving or warehouse experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Experience with inventory control and inbound/outbound shipping is preferred.
• Oracle/ERP experience is helpful.
• Experience using hand trucks or pallet movers.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, pull, or move up to 50–75 lbs.
• Ability to work in refrigerator/freezer temperatures for short periods.
• Ability to operate hand trucks and pallet movers.
• Ability to use a computer and calculator.
• Must wear required PPE such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and lab coat in designated areas.
• May work around blood-borne pathogens and limited quantities of radioactive materials, following required safety procedures.
