Job Description
TRC Talent Solutions is partnering with a leading robotic systems integrator to hire a Senior Robotics Engineer. This role will lead the design, programming, integration, and startup of custom robotic automation systems for manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will have experience developing complete robotic solutions from concept through commissioning, combining expertise in robotics, controls, automation, and system design.
ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop turnkey robotic automation systems from concept through deployment.
Partner with customers, sales teams, and engineers to evaluate manufacturing processes and create automation solutions.
Design robotic cells, end-of-arm tooling, fixtures, conveyance systems, and safety equipment.
Program FANUC robots from scratch, including TCP setup, frame data, tool data, and system configuration.
Integrate machine vision systems and support camera calibration and inspection applications.
Develop PLC handshaking, triggers, and communication between robotic and controls systems.
Conduct system testing, validation, and optimization during staging and commissioning.
Support onsite startup, troubleshooting, and customer training activities.
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers throughout project execution.
Drive continuous improvements focused on reliability, repeatability, and equipment performance.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
5+ years of Robotics Engineering experience designing automation systems from the ground up.
Strong experience programming FANUC robots.
Experience integrating robotic systems within manufacturing environments.
Understanding of PLC programming and controls integration.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
Ability to travel 20-25% for customer startup and support activities.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Experience with KUKA, ABB, or Motoman robots.
RIA Expert Certification.
Experience with Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, Beckhoff, or B&R controls platforms.
SolidWorks experience.
FANUC ROBOGUIDE simulation experience.
Experience supporting defense, aerospace, automotive, or industrial automation projects.
