Job Description
Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
Location: Richmond & Los Angeles, CA | 50% Remote + Field Travel
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 36 Months
Local Candidates: Accepted
Traveler Candidates: Accepted
Pay Rate: $48.91–$57.00/hr
Required Qualifications:
Active California CLS License – Generalist or Specialist
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field
Minimum 3 years of qualifying experience in laboratory supervision, quality, compliance, inspection, regulatory, or public health laboratory roles
Strong knowledge of CLIA and California laboratory regulations
Willingness to travel throughout California for day and overnight inspections
Strong documentation, communication, and regulatory compliance skills
Responsibilities:
Conduct onsite inspections of clinical and physician office laboratories
Evaluate laboratory compliance with CLIA and California regulations
Perform complaint and follow-up investigations
Review inspection reports and corrective action plans
Provide technical consultation on laboratory compliance issues
Prepare deficiency reports, QA/QC documentation, and SOPs
Validate laboratory results and maintain regulatory records
Support legal and enforcement documentation when required
Travel throughout California for field inspections
