ABOUT THE ROLEWe are seeking experienced Automation Support professionals to join our team on 3rd shift (12-hour schedule) at a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. In this role, you will be a key automation resource during overnight operations, helping ensure the continuous, compliant, and reliable performance of manufacturing execution systems, control systems, and site infrastructure.
You will execute corrective and preventive maintenance, monitor system performance, support MES troubleshooting (Syncade), manage OSI PI Historian configurations, and help maintain computerized systems in compliance with cGMP and data integrity standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Corrective Maintenance: Troubleshoot and repair programming, vision systems, and equipment; perform backups/restores of programming and configurations; conduct electromechanical troubleshooting and component replacement.
- Preventive Maintenance: Execute and maintain preventive maintenance plans for automation and computerized systems.
- Safety & Risk Management: Evaluate safety hazards and risks before performing maintenance activities; identify and help mitigate risks in existing systems.
- Failure Analysis & Improvement: Investigate recurring issues, recommend solutions, and implement improvements to reduce downtime.
- System Monitoring: Monitor system performance during the shift and escalate atypical situations in a timely manner.
- OSI PI Historian: Develop and maintain Historian models and tags to support operational analytics and OEE monitoring.
- MES Troubleshooting: Support Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), with a focus on Syncade.
- Shift Reporting: Document and communicate shift activities to key stakeholders.
- System Administration: Perform system administration tasks as needed, including support during IT system outages.
Required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field, with relevant hands-on experience in automation/controls support.
- Experience with corrective and preventive maintenance of PLCs and computerized manufacturing systems, ideally in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment.
- Experience troubleshooting PLCs and ladder logic programs, and repairing electromechanical/electronic instrumentation.
- Experience with Rockwell Automation platforms (ControlLogix, CompactLogix).
- Familiarity with cGMP and data integrity / quality practice requirements.
- Availability to work 3rd shift (12-hour shifts).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (oral and written).
Preferred
- Experience with MES platforms, particularly Syncade.
- Experience with OSI PI Historian.
- Siemens systems knowledge.
- Experience with Cognex vision systems, SQL databases, or VMware environments.
- Knowledge of Computer System Validation (CSV) requirements.
- Familiarity with CMMS tools for maintenance tracking.
