Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technologist with strong expertise in both high-risk coronary and neuro-interventional procedures. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of Cath Lab experience and be highly proficient in scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating during complex cardiovascular procedures.
Candidates must have hands-on experience with high-risk coronary interventions and STEMI procedures, including the ability to scrub and circulate STEMI cases. The selected technologist must also be willing to develop competency in neuro-interventional circulating and monitoring for call coverage.

- Department: Cath Lab
- Number of Labs/Suites: 6
- Average Cases: Approximately 18 cases per day
- Patient Population: Coronary and neuro-interventional patients
- Case Acuity: High-risk coronary procedures
- EMR: Epic
- Equipment/System: McKesson
- Cardiologist Coverage: 24/7
- Scrubs: Provided by facility
Key Responsibilities
- Scrub, monitor, and circulate during Cath Lab procedures
- Provide technical support during complex cardiovascular interventions
- Independently scrub and circulate STEMI procedures
- Assist with high-risk coronary interventions
- Maintain sterile technique and ensure appropriate procedural setup
- Monitor patients and procedural equipment throughout cases
- Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, anesthesia, and other members of the procedural team
- Develop competency in neuro-interventional circulating and monitoring for call coverage
- Maintain patient safety and adhere to established procedural standards
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 3 years of Cath Lab experience
- Cath Lab experience – Required
- Neuro-interventional experience – Required
- Experience with high-risk coronary interventions
- Strong STEMI intervention experience
- Must be able to scrub STEMI cases
- Must be able to circulate STEMI cases
- Must be willing to learn neuro-interventional circulating and monitoring
- Strong understanding of Cath Lab procedures, equipment, and sterile technique
Required Certification
- ARRT (RT-R) – Required
Schedule
- 5 × 8-hour shifts per week
- Start time: 7:00 AM or 8:30 AM, as assigned
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekends (Saturday/Sunday) during the 13-week assignment
- Call Requirement: Yes
- Call Response Time: 30 minutes
- Holiday call may be required
Leadership & Support
- Supervisor/Charge available during regular operating hours
- Standard supervisory coverage: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Cardiologist coverage available 24/7
Floating
The technologist may be required to float to:
- EP (Electrophysiology)
- IR (Interventional Radiology)
Orientation
- 5 shifts of department-specific orientation during the first week
OSF Assignment Requirements
- Active Illinois license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- Requested time off must be provided at submission
- Last four digits of clinician's SSN required for submission
- Clinician's middle initial required
- Candidate must understand that OSF is a Drug-Free Campus and a negative drug screen for all required panels is mandatory
OSF Assignment Notes
- Local Rate: Applies to clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles; regular and overtime bill rates are reduced by $25
- Call-Off Policy: Up to 12 hours per 13-week assignment without penalty or requirement to make up/pay for the shift
- Orientation: 12 hours are non-billable; guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
