Job Description
Ariva Group is looking for a reliable and safety-conscious CDL Driver to join our team in Laredo, Texas. The CDL Driver will be responsible for transporting construction equipment, heavy machinery, materials, and supplies to and from construction sites using commercial trucks and heavy-haul trailers.
The ideal candidate has experience hauling heavy equipment using lowboy or RGN trailers, understands proper load securement procedures, and can safely transport large machinery such as loaders, excavators, and dump trucks. Experience driving commercial trucks in construction environments is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers to transport heavy equipment, construction machinery, materials, and supplies.
- Haul heavy equipment using lowboy, RGN, flatbed, or other appropriate trailers, depending on the load and equipment requirements.
- Transport construction machinery, including loaders, excavators, large dump trucks, and other heavy equipment, to and from designated job sites.
- Load, secure, inspect, and unload equipment while ensuring compliance with applicable cargo securement and transportation regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and related equipment; report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Verify load dimensions, weight requirements, and securement before transportation.
- Plan routes and coordinate deliveries with construction teams, dispatchers, and supervisors to ensure timely and safe transportation.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, trip logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
- Operate vehicles safely in construction sites, uneven terrain, and varying weather conditions.
- Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of assigned trucks and trailers.
- Follow company safety policies, DOT regulations, traffic laws, and job-site safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with a Class A CDL preferred or required based on the assigned vehicle and trailer combination.
- Previous experience transporting heavy equipment and construction machinery is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience operating a tractor-trailer with a lowboy or RGN trailer is a strong plus.
- Experience hauling loaders, excavators, dump trucks, or similar heavy construction equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of proper load securement, tie-down procedures, and heavy-haul safety practices.
- Ability to perform vehicle and trailer inspections and identify potential safety or maintenance issues.
- Clean driving record and ability to meet applicable DOT requirements.
- Ability to maneuver commercial vehicles safely in construction sites and tight spaces.
- Strong communication, reliability, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with construction teams.
- Ability to assist with loading, unloading, and securing equipment as required.
