Production Supervisor

Shift Supervisor - Production:

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations across die-cutting, slitting, and converting lines. This position is responsible for keeping production schedules, staffing, quality, safety, and output on track while serving as the first point of escalation for equipment, material, quality, and operator-related issues.

Location: San Carlos, CA

Duration: contract-to-perm for the right fit

Schedule: M-F 6am-2:30pm - Initial training will take place on the day shift, with the expectation of transitioning to the 2:00 PM–10:30 PM swing shift in the future

Pay: $30 - $32/hr

Responsibilities include:

• Oversee shift production operations across die-cutting, slitting, and converting lines — keep schedule, staffing, and output on track
• Act as first-line escalation point for operator issues (equipment, quality, material) before they go to the floor manager or owners
• Conduct shift start/end handoffs, communicate priorities and carryover issues to the next shift
• Monitor production counts, scrap, and downtime in real time; intervene on bottlenecks
• Enforce safety and quality protocols on the floor — spot-check compliance, not just document it after the fact
• Provide basic performance feedback and coaching to operators; flag repeat issues to management
• Support onboarding/training of new operators on the floor

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Proven manufacturing leadership experience, with direct responsibility for overseeing a production shift, coordinating operators, and keeping daily production on track.
• Strong independent decision-making skills, with the ability to address production, staffing, equipment, and workflow issues in real time without relying on management for every decision.
• Confident and direct communication style, with the ability to provide constructive feedback, address performance concerns, hold operators accountable, and maintain clear expectations on the production floor.
