                         2nd Shift | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
                         3rd Shift | 10:30PM - 7:00 AM

Job Summary

The Vacuum Furnace Operator II will support aerospace and manufacturing operations by operating and maintaining vacuum and coating furnaces and other production equipment. The role involves loading/unloading materials, monitoring furnace processes, inspecting components, completing production documentation, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain vacuum and coating furnaces, grit/sandblast equipment, blenders, masking equipment, and brazing stations.
• Prepare and mix materials according to established specifications.
• Load and unload parts and materials from production equipment.
• Monitor furnace equipment, production processes, and furnace charts.
• Inspect products and components for quality and specification compliance.
• Read and accurately interpret blueprints, work instructions, and specifications.
• Complete travelers, logbooks, process documentation, and production records accurately.
• Accurately transfer production information and data.
• Change thermocouples as required.
• Perform dry honing of components.
• Follow Lean Manufacturing principles and maintain/improve 5S standards.
• Follow applicable IPM/QPM and ISO quality requirements.
• Maintain a clean and safe production environment.

Required Qualifications

• Manufacturing or warehouse experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, specifications, and process documentation.
• Ability to read and monitor furnace charts and related equipment.
• Knowledge of chemical powder processing.
• Strong attention to detail when transferring production information and data.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, twist, and lift 25+ lbs. for 8 hours or longer.
• Ability to work overtime, including weekends, when required.
• Fluent English communication skills, including speaking, reading, and writing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience operating production or furnace equipment.
• Experience with vacuum or coating furnaces.
• Experience with manufacturing processes and production documentation.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles.
• Basic computer skills.

Training & Certification

• Successfully complete required furnace-related training and examinations.
• Meet required performance standards within the first six months.
• Become a certified working furnace operator within six months.
• Become certified in at least two furnace operations within six months.
