Test Technician II

The Panther Group is seeking an experienced Test Technician II for a temporary opportunity with a leading aerospace and defense organization in Austin, TX.

This is a 100% onsite, hands-on electronics testing role for someone with experience testing PCB assemblies, troubleshooting electronics, reading schematics, and performing hand soldering. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with test equipment, diagnosing issues to the component level, and supporting production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Set up test equipment and perform testing of production assemblies and electronic units.
• Test PCB assemblies and troubleshoot problems to identify the root cause of failures.
• Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, work instructions, and engineering drawings.
• Use oscilloscopes, multimeters, RF analyzers, and other electronic test equipment.
• Adjust and calibrate systems and test equipment as needed.
• Modify equipment and assemblies by adding, removing, or replacing components according to established instructions.
• Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions, including replacing components as directed.
• Use hand tools, small power tools, and electronic measuring and testing equipment.
• Monitor and verify product quality in accordance with established procedures.
• Support production teams by identifying and resolving testing or assembly issues.
• Maintain accurate test results and documentation.
• Work effectively with engineers, technicians, and production team members.

• At least 2 years of manufacturing test experience, preferably involving PCB testing and troubleshooting.
• High school diploma or trade school education.
• Hands-on hand soldering experience is required.
• Ability to troubleshoot electronics to the component level.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, work instructions, and drawings.
• Experience using electronic test equipment such as:
  • Oscilloscopes
  • Multimeters
  • RF analyzers
• Comfortable using hand and small power tools.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently in a production environment.
• Ability and willingness to become solder certified.

• IPC-A-610 certification or experience.
• J-STD-001 certification or training.
• J-STD modules 1, 3, and 6 are preferred.
• Previous aerospace, defense, or electronics manufacturing experience.
• Experience testing and troubleshooting complex PCB assemblies.
