General Manager

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, highly-motivated and results-driven General Manager to lead our shopping center. Needs to handle day-to-day operations of a large shopping center. Manage a small staff to ensure the property is well maintained and safe for tenants and patrons. Must be able to work independent of ownership to maintain the daily operations. Be able to remain calm in a crisis. Excellent communication with the community, staff, tenants and ownership. Coordinating special events with community members, civic leadership and patrons. Be computer savvy with experience in learning new systems.

Duties

• Lead daily store operations, including property management, inventory control, and customer service standards
• Recruit, interview, train, and develop team members to build a strong team aligned with company goals
• Manage employee orientation programs and ongoing training initiatives to enhance team performance
• Supervise shift management, scheduling, and other duties to maintain operational efficiency
• Foster a positive store environment through excellent communication skills, managerial leadership, and team management expertise

Requirements

• Proven experience in retail management or store supervision within the retail industry sales environment
• Strong skills in negotiation, recruiting, employee orientation, interviewing, and training & development
• Demonstrated proficiency in inventory management, HVAC controls, security and fire systems, purchasing, and cash handling procedures
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Exceptional communication skills for managerial communication, team leadership, and customer service excellence
• Previous assistant manager or managerial experience in retail stores is preferred; supervisory experience is required
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, stock management, and operational procedures
• Ability to lead by example with a focus on customer satisfaction and operational efficiency
