Summary:
The Registered Nurse provides professional, compassionate nursing care to patients of all ages in a community health clinic setting. This position works closely with providers and the medical team to support patient care, education, care coordination, and a variety of clinical services.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care to patients of all ages in accordance with established standards and policies
• Room patients and collect/document vital signs, medical history, medications, screenings, and assessment information in EPIC
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments as ordered
• Assist providers with examinations, procedures, testing, and minor office procedures
• Perform telephone and in-person triage and coordinate appropriate follow-up care
• Arrange testing, diagnostics, referrals, and emergency care as ordered
• Perform EKGs, pulmonary function tests, basic laboratory testing, and venipuncture as needed
• Manage prescription refill requests, prior authorizations, and clinical paperwork in a timely manner
• Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatments, and preventive care
• Communicate test results and follow provider instructions for patient follow-up
• Assist with care coordination for complex patients and connect patients with appropriate resources
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records in accordance with HIPAA and CHS policies
• Participate in staff training, professional development, committees, and quality improvement activities
• Provide coverage and support to other RNs and clinic staff as needed
• Follow infection control, safety, regulatory, and legal requirements
• Support CHS's mission and Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) values

Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
• Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Current BLS certification required
• 1–2 years of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, organization, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Experience with electronic medical records; EPIC experience preferred
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
• Commitment to providing compassionate, culturally responsive care to a diverse community
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and coworkers
• Must be able to complete required training and continuing education

Work Environment:
This position works in a clinical environment with frequent exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to healthcare settings. The role may involve a fast-paced workload and requires appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
