Warehouse Operator/Forklift Operator

Our client in Bohemia, NY is looking for warehouse workers to join their team. The Warehouse II is responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to support warehouse operations, in addition to being able to fulfill duties of Warehouse I as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely to move materials within the warehouse, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to designated areas.
- Load and unload trucks, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against relevant documentation, such as bills of lading, packing lists, and purchase orders.
- Conduct regular inspections of forklifts and other equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance or safety issues to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by performing cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and updating inventory management systems.
- Organize and maintain warehouse storage areas, ensuring materials are properly labeled, stored, and easily accessible.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to coordinate daily activities, prioritize tasks, and ensure efficient workflow.
- Provide updates, report issues, and contribute to a positive work environment. 
- Pick, pack, and stage materials accurately for shipment, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Perform general housekeeping tasks and other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
1(+) years’ experience preferred
High school diploma or equivalent
Some experience in forklift or Valid forklift operator certification
Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment in a warehouse or distribution center setting.

REQUIRED AND PREFERRED SKILLS
Communications Skills both verbal and written
Basic Mathematical Skills
Computer and technical skills (equipment, systems, programs, etc.)
Organizational and time management

 ADDITIONAL NOTES
Physical ability to repetitively walk, kneel, lift, stand, climb, bend, reach, etc. within a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment.
Work collaboratively, with a positive attitude and professionalism.
Maintain effectiveness during major changes in work tasks or the work environment, adjusting effectively to within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures.
Follows safety rules, SOPs, GMPs and all other company policies and processes.
Regularly lifting up to 50 pounds or moving up 50 plus pounds with assistance.
Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
