Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist to support a busy Heart & Vascular Institute, requiring ARRT registration and Illinois radiologic technologist licensure.
Details
- Cardiac Cath Lab setting within a Heart & Vascular Institute
- Patient population requires invasive cardiology or invasive radiology studies
- Performs left and right heart catheterization, coronary stenting, pericardiocentesis, and vascular access under sterile technique
- Supports structural heart procedures including TAVR, Watchman, Mitraclip, Triclip, ASD/PFO, and CardioMEMs
- Assists with hybrid peripheral vascular procedures including EVAR, TCAR, and TEVAR in coordination with vascular surgery
- Utilizes adjunctive tools such as ICUS, FFR/iFR, lithotripsy, laser, rotational atherectomy, Impella, IABP, OCT, and CTO technology
- Uses Epic for charting
- 4x9 hour day shifts, 0730-1700
- Weekend and holiday shifts assigned per department rotation
- Participates in on-call duties as assigned to meet department needs
Requirements
- Associate's degree or certificate of completion required
- BLS-AHA and ACLS-AHA certification required
- ARRT registration in Radiography (R) required
- Illinois Radiologic Technologist license required, if applicable
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience administering contrast material and performing allergy assessments preferred
- Ability to maintain a sterile field during procedures
- Strong documentation and patient/chart identification skills
Additional Information
- Assists physicians during invasive cardiology and radiology procedures
- Responsible for checking patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment positioning
- Compiles clinical information from labs, pathology, and other sources
- Explains procedures to patients and ensures comfort, safety, and confidentiality
- Assists with inventory and supply management and new staff instruction as needed
- On-call responsibilities begin within 6 months of starting the assignment
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
- Workers may not remain on assignment for more than 1 year at this facility without a 6-month break in service before returning
