Job Description

This role focuses on building high-quality mechanical and electronic sub-assemblies for large testing units in a clean, well-organized production environment. You will work from detailed assembly drawings and schematics at your own workstation, using hand and power tools to complete a variety of non–assembly-line builds while collaborating closely with a team-oriented group.

Responsibilities

• Build mechanical and electronic sub-assemblies for large testing units according to detailed assembly drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Work at an individual workstation to complete varied sub-assembly builds, rather than performing repetitive assembly-line tasks.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to assemble, fasten, and adjust small parts and components.
• Visually inspect finished sub-assemblies to verify quality, identify defects, and ensure they meet required specifications.
• Assist with all aspects of the assembly process as needed, including setup, adjustments, rework, and basic repairs.
• Interpret and follow assembly documentation, including blueprints, schematics, and work instructions, with a high degree of accuracy.
• Collaborate with team members and support a positive, culture-focused environment while meeting production and quality goals.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience in small-parts mechanical or electronic assembly in a non–assembly-line environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and detailed assembly drawings.
• Hands-on experience using a variety of hand tools and power tools for assembly and basic repair work.
• Mechanical assembly skills, including working with sub-assemblies and electronic components.
• Ability to perform visual inspections to identify defects and verify assembly quality.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with intricate parts and assemblies.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and contribute to a positive culture.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with electronic assembly and repair is a plus.
• Familiarity with schematic reading in an electronics lab or similar environment.
• Comfort working across different types of sub-assemblies and adapting to changing tasks.
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach to following assembly documentation.
• Reliability and consistency in meeting quality and productivity expectations.

Work Environment

The role is based on a modern campus located in an industrial park, featuring a well-lit, extremely clean electronics lab that is fully temperature controlled, along with a separate tooling and fabrication area that is also clean and well-lit. Only a small portion of the warehouse is currently not temperature controlled, with plans in place to address this. You will work daytime shifts, either 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at your own workstation rather than on an assembly line. The environment is designed to be friendly, relaxed, and culture-focused, supporting collaboration and comfort throughout the workday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westlake, OH.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
