Job Title: Panel Assembler

Job Description

This role focuses on assembling and binding wires and cables into wire harnesses used in electronic and electrical systems and equipment. You will follow detailed work instructions on a screen, use a variety of hand and power tools, and contribute to a clean, safety-focused manufacturing environment while meeting production goals.

Responsibilities

• Assemble wire harnesses according to specifications and step-by-step work instructions displayed on a computer screen.
• Bind wires and cables using cable ties, cable lacing, electrical conduit, and sleeves in line with electrical wiring plans and standards.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to perform assembly and wiring tasks.
• Follow all safety standards, policies, and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
• Learn to read and interpret basic drawings and schematics to support accurate assembly and wiring work.
• Operate a computer and touchscreen to access work instructions, record production data, and navigate assembly steps.
• Meet daily and weekly production expectations while maintaining quality and accuracy in all assemblies.
• Participate in Lean initiatives, including the 5S program, to support continuous improvement and workplace organization.
• Follow company policies and procedures consistently in all aspects of work.
• Work independently at a workstation while collaborating effectively as a team player when needed.
• Maintain punctuality and reliable attendance to support production schedules.
• Demonstrate ethical behavior and a conscientious work approach, ensuring high standards of workmanship.
• Perform physical tasks such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing carts and storage racks, and lifting materials as needed.

Essential Skills

• Manufacturing experience in an assembly or production environment.
• Experience as an electrical helper or with a mechanical skill set relevant to assembly work.
• Hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools for assembly and wiring tasks.
• General assembly experience, ideally in an electrical or mechanical setting.
• Ability to follow detailed step-by-step assembly procedures from a computer screen or touchscreen.
• Ability to operate a computer and use a touchscreen interface in English.
• Ability to follow safety policies, standards, and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Ability to follow company policies and procedures and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong punctuality and attendance habits, with reliability in meeting scheduled work hours.
• Ethical, conscientious work style with attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to work effectively as a team player in a manufacturing environment.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
• Physical ability to push carts and storage racks as part of material handling.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with crimping tools and techniques for electrical connections.
• Small wiring experience, including routing and securing wires in assemblies.
• Ability to learn and improve in reading electrical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with wiring, panel building, control panel assembly, and panel wiring.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with electrical wiring practices.
• Basic computer experience for accessing work instructions and documenting work.
• Bi-lingual communication skills.
• Interest in growth opportunities into testing, inspection, quality, or lead roles over time.

Work Environment

The role is based in a very clean manufacturing facility where you will primarily work seated at a workstation. The normal shift begins at 4:00 a.m., with workdays typically ranging from 8 to 12 hours and some overtime opportunities on weekends. You will use a computer and touchscreen regularly to follow work instructions and record information. The environment emphasizes safety, proper use of personal protective clothing, and adherence to company policies while performing assembly and wiring tasks.Panel

This is a Contract position based out of Reading, PA.

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
