Robert Half is partnering with a highly regarded, growing Chicago-based law firm to identify a Litigation Paralegal for its General Liability practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated litigation professional seeking hands-on experience, direct attorney exposure, and long-term career growth within a collaborative and respected firm environment. The ideal candidate will have prior litigation experience handling discovery, depositions, medical records, and trial preparation.


Responsibilities:

  • Support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation from inception through trial.
  • Draft, compile, prepare, and organize discovery requests and responses.
  • Review, summarize, and abstract medical records.
  • Prepare medical chronologies and case summaries.
  • Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.
  • Maintain and organize case files, pleadings, exhibits, and correspondence.
  • Manage document productions and discovery-related materials.
  • Track litigation deadlines and maintain case calendars.
  • Communicate with clients, experts, medical providers, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparation, exhibit management, and witness coordination.
  • Perform legal and administrative support functions as needed.


Requirements:

  • Paralegal certificate from an accredited program is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a litigation paralegal role is required.
  • Practical experience with discovery coordination, deposition preparation, and trial support is required.
  • Ability to review medical records and prepare accurate medical summaries or abstractions is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience supporting Illinois litigation matters is required; exposure to Indiana matters is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail are essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively in a deadline-driven legal environment is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software is required.
