Payroll/AP Accountant

About the Role
As a Payroll & Accounts Payable Accountant, you will be instrumental in processing payrolls for diverse pay groups, maintaining comprehensive records, and managing accounts payable activities. You will ensure compliance with federal and state laws while supporting continuous improvements in their finance processes. Your work will directly support approximately 375 employees across seven locations, making a measurable difference every day.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 3 years payroll-specific experience
• Proficiency with payroll software, preferably iSolved, coupled with excellent Excel, Word, and email skills
• Strong understanding of payroll processing, federal and state compliance, and accounting principles
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask across multiple payroll groups
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information discreetly
• Independent thinking, sound judgment, and problem-solving capabilities

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience with Epicor ERP or similar systems
• Knowledge of 401(k) administration and quarterly Census reporting
• Familiarity with union payroll processes and union-related compliance
• Additional accounting or HR certifications (e.g., CPP, PHR)

Preferred Education and Experience

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Prior experience in payroll and general accounting environments
