Systems Administrator

We are looking for a Systems Administrator to support and strengthen enterprise infrastructure for an investment management organization in Menlo Park, California. This Long-term Contract position focuses on maintaining secure, reliable systems across identity, endpoint, network, and Microsoft environments. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach to administration and security, along with the ability to independently lead infrastructure initiatives in a regulated setting.

Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day administration of directory services, including Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID, to support secure access and identity management.
• Oversee Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and Windows 10 environments to maintain system stability, user productivity, and consistent operational performance.
• Implement and support data protection controls using Microsoft Purview or a similar platform to help safeguard sensitive business information.
• Monitor, maintain, and optimize security technologies such as CrowdStrike, Darktrace, or related tools to strengthen threat detection and response capabilities.
• Administer Fortinet networking equipment, including firewalls, switches, VPN connectivity, and VLAN configurations, to ensure secure and reliable network operations.
• Lead infrastructure and security-focused projects, taking ownership from planning through execution while aligning work with business and compliance needs.
• Support audit readiness by preparing technical evidence, maintaining documentation, and assisting with control validation in a regulated environment.
• Troubleshoot system, endpoint, and access issues across core infrastructure platforms and coordinate timely resolution to minimize business disruption.• Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID in an enterprise environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and Windows 10 administration.
• Experience with data loss prevention tools, preferably Microsoft Purview or a comparable solution.
• Familiarity with security platforms such as CrowdStrike, Darktrace, or similar endpoint and monitoring technologies.
• Practical experience managing Fortinet firewalls, switches, VPNs, and VLANs.
• Background supporting audits, evidence collection, or technology operations within a regulated industry.
• Ability to independently manage infrastructure and security initiatives with strong ownership and follow-through.
• Experience with enterprise technologies such as Dell hardware and Citrix environments is beneficial.
