Mechanical Engineer

Overview

We are seeking Mechanical Engineers to support the design and development of large-scale modular HVAC and cooling systems for mission-critical infrastructure projects. This role will focus on mechanical system design, piping layouts, hydraulic calculations, and engineering documentation within a manufacturing-driven environment. The ideal candidate has experience with HVAC, piping, or industrial process systems and thrives in a fast-paced, project-oriented setting.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop modular HVAC and cooling systems for large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Create detailed piping system layouts, support configurations, and mechanical designs in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Perform hydraulic and pressure drop calculations to validate system performance and optimize equipment sizing.
• Develop and maintain 2D drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks for fabrication, assembly, and construction documentation.
• Generate fabrication drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation to support production activities.
• Interpret and apply applicable industry standards, including ASME and ASME B31.3 Process Piping Codes, to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Partner closely with manufacturing, production, and shop personnel to resolve design challenges and improve constructability and fabrication efficiency.
• Support engineering projects from design through production in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience designing mechanical piping systems, HVAC systems, or industrial process systems.
• Experience working with pumps, valves, and motors.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks for 2D drafting and 3D modeling.
• Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, piping design, and pressure loss calculations.
• Knowledge of ASME codes, including ASME B31.3 and related piping standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing and project-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data center cooling infrastructure.
• Experience with modular engineering and skid-mounted systems.
• Experience with industrial refrigeration, chilled water, or process cooling systems.

Schedule: Onsite in Jacksonville; Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM

Compensation: $50-$55/ hour
