Job Summary:

The Driver – Field Operations is responsible for transporting, unloading and staging materials and equipment for telecommunication projects to multiple locations for field operations. They will also act as a laborer when not driving. Depending on the project, they can share their time 50% CDL / 50 %Laborer or 30% CDL / 70% Laborer. It will fluctuate depending on need and project. 

Position Summary

Network Connex is seeking an experienced Class A CDL Driver to support our fiber optic and underground construction operations. This position is responsible for transporting heavy construction equipment, materials, and crews while also providing hands-on support in the field.

The ideal candidate has experience hauling excavators, directional drills, HDD equipment, construction materials, and other heavy equipment and is comfortable working in an active construction environment.

This is a hands-on position that combines commercial driving, heavy equipment hauling, and field/crew support.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles and construction support vehicles.
• Transport excavators, directional drills, drill equipment, attachments, tools, materials, and other heavy equipment between jobsites, yards, and other locations.
• Haul heavy equipment using trailers and other appropriate transportation equipment.
• Operate and support vacuum trucks and water trucks as needed.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload equipment and materials safely.
• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain vehicle, trailer, and transportation documentation.
• Support HDD, underground utility, fiber optic, and OSP construction crews.
• Assist with crew mobilization and demobilization.
• Perform general labor and material-handling tasks as needed.
• Assist with jobsite setup, cleanup, equipment preparation, and general crew support.
• Assist with fueling and basic equipment maintenance.
• Maintain company vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment in a clean and safe condition.
• Follow all DOT, OSHA, company, customer, and jobsite safety requirements.
• Communicate effectively with Foremen, Construction Managers, and Superintendent
• Perform other duties as needed to support daily construction operations.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with no restrictions.
• Tanker endorsement required.
• Demonstrated experience operating manual transmission vehicles.
• Experience hauling and transporting heavy construction equipment.
• Experience transporting excavators, directional drills, HDD equipment, or similar heavy equipment.
• Experience hauling construction materials.
• Knowledge of proper load securement and heavy equipment transportation.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass applicable DOT and company requirements.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
