Outpatient/Community Registered Dietitian - 0.8-1.0 FTE

Prairie Ridge Health is looking for a compassionate and knowledgeable team member to join our Nutrition and Diabetes Department in the role of Registered Dietitian. This position is 0.8-1.0 FTE (32-40 hours per week) and will work Monday-Friday, days, with the option of one day off per week depending on FTE.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Registered Dietitian is responsible for providing individualized Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and nutrition education to patients across a variety of health conditions and life stages in an outpatient setting, including but not limited to eating disorder, GI, cardiac, and weight related diagnoses. The dietitian will collaborate with patients, families, providers, and members of the healthcare team to develop practical, evidence-based nutrition plans that support improved health and well-being. In addition to outpatient nutrition services, this position will support a variety of community-based nutrition initiatives and programs based on organizational and community needs. Opportunities may include cardiac rehab, school nutrition programming, long-term care or sports nutrition consultation services, community outreach, health promotion activities, wellness programming, presentations, screenings, and other initiatives designed to improve access to and awareness of healthy nutrition. The dietitian may develop, conduct and evaluate educational classes and materials. Participates in developing and updating procedures, protocols and departmental policies. Facilitates compliance with The Joint Commission, state and other regulatory agencies related to nutrition care.  Participates in the development, implementation and monitoring of quality initiatives.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION

• Graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics or related field

• Completed an accredited intern program

• Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), or RDN Eligible with RDN certification exam scheduled at time of employment and earned RDN credential within 90 days of employment.  Temporarily certified, certification pending and/or RDN eligible staff will have all work supervised and/or co-signed by a RDN-CD. 

• Valid certification in the State of Wisconsin as a Dietitian (CD) or temporary certification if RDN eligible for the first 90 days of employment.

• If the candidate is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist but does not hold a valid certification in the state of Wisconsin, they must have a pending application for certification with the state of Wisconsin at their employment start date. 

• The RDN is responsible for completing, documenting and submitting all required continuing education credits for maintenance of credentialing.
