Direct Support Professional/Caregiver - Now Hiring

Building Connections 4Life (BC4L) is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)/Caregivers to join our growing team in San Diego County.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide respectful assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, hygiene, and personal care.
• Encourage individuals to participate in their own care and daily routines to promote greater independence.
• Follow individualized service plans, behavioral support plans, safety procedures, and client-specific instructions.
• Utilize proactive behavioral strategies, positive reinforcement, redirection, prompting, and de-escalation techniques as trained.
• Recognize potential behavioral triggers and communicate changes or concerns to the appropriate team members.
• Maintain professionalism and follow established procedures during behavioral or crisis situations.
• Assist individuals with meals, household routines, recreational activities, health and wellness activities, and community participation.
• Assist with prescribed medications according to training, established procedures, and medication schedules.
• Observe and document behavioral, health, and safety information accurately.
• Complete required daily notes, behavioral documentation, medication records, and incident documentation in a timely manner.
• Maintain a safe environment while respecting each individual's rights, privacy, dignity, preferences, and choices.
• Communicate professionally with individuals served, coworkers, supervisors, families, healthcare professionals, and behavioral team members.
• Participate in required staff meetings, supervision, client-specific training, competency reviews, and ongoing professional development.
• Follow BC4L policies regarding confidentiality, professional boundaries, mandated reporting, incident reporting, and health and safety.
