CDL B Local Tanker Driver in the Shelburne, VT Area - Now Hiring

Roberts Energy is seeking dependable, safety-focused Oil and Propane Bobtail Delivery Drivers to join our teams in Grand Isle, Fairfax, and Bridport VT. Both year-round and seasonal heating season positions are available. This position is responsible for safely delivering heating oil and propane to residential, commercial, and agricultural customers throughout the surrounding service areas

Compensation

• Average Annual Pay: $75,000 - $95,000
  • Average Hourly Pay Range: $30-$36
  • Average Hours a Week:
    • Summer typically 40
    • Winter (peak season) typically 60
  • Overtime Pay after 40 hours
  • 3-4 week training period at your hourly rate
• Quarterly Safety Bonuses up to $650
• Driver Referral Bonus: $2,000 (paid $500 each quarter)
• Paid via direct deposit weekly

Home Time, Route, & Schedule

• Home every night!
• 5-day work week with opportunity for additional work
• Morning Shift
• Loading and unloading of product according to requirements
• Drivers must be willing to work overtime and participate in rotating weekend or on-call coverage when needed. Seasonal drivers will primarily support increased delivery demand during the fall and winter heating season, with the possibility of continued or year-round employment based on business needs and performance.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate an oil or propane bobtail delivery truck
• Deliver heating oil and propane to customer locations
• Complete daily vehicle inspections and required safety documentation
• Accurately record deliveries, meter readings, tickets, and customer information
• Follow assigned routes and communicate with dispatch regarding changes or delays
• Safely handle hoses, equipment, and delivery connections
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, leaks, equipment concerns, or customer-access issues
• Follow all DOT, hazmat, company, and industry safety requirements
• Provide professional and courteous customer service
• Assist with emergency and after-hours deliveries when scheduled
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe vehicle

Equipment

• Late model well maintained equipment
• Mix of Kenworth and Freightliner
• Automatic
• Motive Inward and outward facing cameras
• Governed Speed 68 MPH

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have CDL B (or A) license
• Paid training may be available for an experienced CDL driver who has the required endorsements but is new to oil or propane delivery.
• Tanker and Hazmat endorsements required
• Clean MVR and PSP
• No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years
• No DUI's in the past 7 years
• Valid DOT medical card
• Clean and acceptable driving record
• Ability to meet DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements
• Previous oil or propane delivery experience preferred
• Ability to safely operate in winter weather and on rural roads and driveways
• Ability to lift and pull delivery hoses and perform the physical duties of the position
• Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and customer service
• Dependable attendance and the ability to work independently
• Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations
• Must be able to pass a required pre-employment drug screen
• Drivers must live within a 75 miles radius of Shelburne, VT or be willing to relocate for this position. Terminals in: Grand Isle, Fairfax, and Bridport VT.
