Auto Body Assembly Technician | $19–$23/hr. | Paid Training + Career Growth

Have some collision repair experience and want to build your skills into a long-term career?

VIVE Collision is looking for an Auto Body Assembly Technician to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone with at least 1 year of auto body experience who enjoys hands-on work and wants to continue learning and growing in the collision industry.

You'll work alongside experienced technicians, gain exposure to the full repair process, and receive paid I-CAR and OEM training to help take your skills to the next level.

What You'll Be Doing

The Disassembly Technician is responsible for disassembling, inspecting, documenting, and assessing vehicles for hidden damage to support accurate repair planning and efficient production.


Key Responsibilities

  • Follow the company blueprinting process and disassembly procedures (DFR) for all vehicle inspections.
  • Disassemble vehicles after the initial estimate and inspect for structural and hidden damage.
  • Complete full vehicle disassembly to support a 100% repair plan.
  • Document all additional damage, required parts, blend panels, moldings, clips, and one-time-use fasteners.
  • Communicate supplemental damage and parts needs to the Production Manager/Estimator.
  • Assist with vehicle reassembly as needed.
  • Perform light non-structural repairs including sanding, finishing, and minor bumper repairs.
  • Reinstall moldings, trim, and finishing components.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of auto body repair experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Auto Body Vo-Tech certification preferred.
  • I-CAR and OEM training preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read repair orders, estimates, and work instructions.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.


Work Environment & Physical Demands

This position operates in a collision repair shop environment with exposure to loud noise, automotive equipment, paint fumes, dust, and varying temperatures. Employees may work around moving vehicles, mechanical parts, and hazardous materials. The role requires adherence to all safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel, and pull
  • Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping to complete or inspect repairs 
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 80 lbs.) 
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate tools and equipment 
  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods 
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions
