Description
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for a Long Term Care setting, requiring 1+ year of OT experience and LTC or Rehab experience.
Details
- Long Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facility setting
- Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts
- Flexible start times between 6AM and 10AM as long as consistent and communicated with Director of Rehab
- No weekend requirements unless a holiday falls within the Monday-Friday schedule, in which case hours can be made up on the weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Compact license accepted
Requirements
- Current OT license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of OT experience required
- New graduates accepted if Level II fieldwork experience is completed (Level I observation experience alone not sufficient)
- LTC or Rehab setting experience required
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Screen and evaluate patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders and develop appropriate plans of care
- Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to guide clinical interventions
- Provide rehabilitative treatment including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities and exercises, modalities, and assistive devices
- Assess patient progress and adjust treatment plans according to regulatory and clinical standards
- Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers
- Communicate regularly with supervisors and other healthcare team members regarding patient progress and treatment plans
- Complete comprehensive discharge summaries and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic system
- Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and rehabilitation meetings
- Supervise and support occupational therapy assistants, rehabilitation aides, and/or students as needed
- Adhere to NBCOT/AOTA and state practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethics standards
- Limited requested time off permitted during the assignment
